Established in 2025, IMARA leads international efforts to ensure that Music Performers receive fair remuneration from streaming, AI, and audiovisual exploitation of their performances globally.

Music is the deepest form of connection and the ever-present and intimate soundtrack of your life. And yet, its creators are often the most disconnected from the fruits of their efforts. The music you enjoy will be created and reproduced by artists you know and love collaborating with musicians whose names you will never know. They create the background to your every moment, but they are often denied fair remuneration for their work, especially in the digital world. By creating IMARA we decided to put an end to that.

IMARA works with WIPO, governments, and creative industry partners to strengthen the protection and promotion of performers’ rights. We are the global voice for music performers, providing expert advice, supporting collective management, and advocating for fair remuneration from Streaming, AI, and Audiovisual uses.
